Daniel Black is a Montreal-based conductor and composer whose orchestrations and compositions have been published by Bärenreiter and the Canadian Music Centre.  Daniel has guest-conducted across the United States, Canada, the Ukraine, and Russia, including the Buffalo Philharmonic, the Nashville Symphony, the Hamilton Philharmonic, the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra, Detroit Opera, and many others. Daniel is co-artistic director and conductor/principal arranger of the Dreams of Bollywood touring orchestra pops show, supported by the Canada Council for the Arts. He has conducted world and U.S. premieres by composers Kevin Puts and Eleanor Alberga, and has also conducted a number of film concerts, including Star Wars: Return of the Jedi, and The Wizard of Oz.  He has held conducting positions with The Florida Orchestra and the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra, and has thrice been awarded Career Assistance Awards from the Solti Foundation U.S.   Daniel’s compositions have been performed by the Florida Orchestra, the Eastman Wind Ensemble, at the International Double Reed Society conference, the Chilean Embassy in Buenos Aires, the International Prokofiev Competition, and more.
